I'm glad you asked.
My name is D.D. Wallace, fiancee, mother, daughter, sister, niece,..... I am a creatress (I think I made that up...hee hee) who often wonders whether the stork dropped me off in the wrong decade. Which explains my unquenchable thirst for vintage and vintage-inspired, particularly 60s,70s, and 80's. Not to say that I have no special affection for the styles of the three decades prior!
I love to resurrect things from the past. I naturally gravitate toward the tattered and worn. I find beauty in imperfection and am inexplicably drawn to items that were loved by someone else. I adore the juxtaposition of elegance and shabbiness....and am actually fond of the word "juxtaposition" (along with many other under-used words). Handmade makes my heart all swoony (made that word up too!).
I also have an equally insatiable need to make things. I design jewelry, paint, craft, and sew. And at the risk of this sounding like a blurb from a dating website, I must add, I love to dance....freestyle...to just turn up the music and groove! Oh yeah, I love music. And I have just discovered that I have an obsession with cookbooks--the beautifully photographed kind with simple, delicious recipes.
